FcεR crosslinking by allergen involves spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk)-mediated signaling transduction. Allergen binding to IgE bound to FcεR on mast cell initiates Lyn phosphorylation of the receptor and activation of Syk. Signaling events lead to mast cell degranulation, eicosanoid mediator synthesis, and cytokine production. FcεR, Fc receptor ε-chain; SH2, Src homology 2.
