Chemerin enhances IL-6, chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 and matrix metalloproteinase 3 production by rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes. IL-6 (A), chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) (B) and matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3) (C) expression levels were measured by ELISA using supernatants of cultured fibroblast-like synoviocytes isolated from the synovium of four patients with rheumatoid arthritis. FLSs (4 × 104 cells/well) were stimulated with 2, 10 or 50 nM recombinant chemerin at 37°C for 24 and 48 hours. Data are presented as means (± SEM) of one of four independent experiments analyzed in quadruplicate. *P < 0.05 relative to samples not treated with chemerin. ns = not significant.
