HDL2-chol and HDL3-chol subfractions in male and female RA patients (RA) and healthy controls (HC). The observed differences in mean HDL3-chol and particularly HDL2-chol levels (mmol/L) between RA patients and controls were primarily present in women, not men. In women, the differences between RA patients and healthy controls in HDL2-chol and HDL3-chol were larger; 0.27 mmol/L (95%CI 0.09 to 0.45) for HDL2-chol, and 0.16 mmol/L, (95% CI 0.08 to 0.23) for HDL3-chol.
