Spontaneous production of IL-10 by mononuclear cells from synovial membrane in rheumatoid arthritis (RA-SMCs) is inhibited by LY294002 but not by wortmannin. RA-SMCs were incubated with the PI3K inhibitors LY294002 and wortmannin for 24 hours. Bars show mean IL-10 in triplicate culture supernatants ± SD, for a representative of N = 4 replicate experiments. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01.
