Images of co-cultures of human PBMCs and chondrocytes after 21 days of differentiation stimulated by macrophage-colony stimulating-factor (M-CSF) in the absence (A) or presence (B, C) of 10-6M PGE2 (original magnification ×100 and ×200, respectively). Osteoclast differentiation was evaluated by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining, and osteoclasts were identified by the presence of ≥ 3 nuclei and purple cells.
