IL-1β and IL-6 increase the expression of nascent sIL-1Ra transcripts. Chondrocytes (passage 5) were stimulated as described in Figure 2. Blank, distilled water; w/o RT, PCR performed on nonreverse-transcribed RNA from IL-1β-stimulated and IL-6-stimulated cells as a control to exclude genomic DNA contamination; U937-LPS, lipopolysaccharide-stimulated U937 monocytic cells used as positive control.
