Chemokines regulate the migration of infiltrating cells. Stressed or damaged muscle fibers secrete chemokines, which will attract inflammatory cells. The infiltrating cells will also secrete chemokines that attract even more cells, creating a loop. DC, dendritic cell; Th1, T helper 1.
