Tumor necrosis factor-converting enzyme (TACE) was colocalized (yellow, arrows) with CD68⁺ and CD163⁺ macrophages, CD55⁺ fibroblast-like synoviocytes, CD19⁺ B cells and CD31⁺ endothelial cells. Figures are representative of five rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. (B) Gene expression analysis of TACE mRNA by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) in RA (n = 22) and gout (n = 12) synovial tissue analyzed by qPCR. Results presented as mean ± standard error of the mean mRNA expression of TACE relative to GAPDH. No significant differences were observed.
