Validation of selected miRNAs. Using single assays, miRNAs selected in the discovery cohort were measured in an independent cohort of patients treated with ADA (a and b) (n = 20) and ETN (c and d) (n = 20). miRNAs were considered validated when showing the “same direction” of variation as in the discovery cohort and a significant difference (p < 0.05) between responders and non-responders. Shown are the fold changes (FCs) of the individual patients and the geometric means per group. P values were calculated on the –ΔΔCrt using an independent sample t test. No patients were excluded from the analysis because of low amplification scores
