From: High sensitivity and negative predictive value of the DETECT algorithm for an early diagnosis of pulmonary arterial hypertension in systemic sclerosis: application in a single center

Fig. 1

Flow of patients in the study population. Eighty-three patients with systemic sclerosis had at least one right heart catherization (RHC), which was revised retrospectively. Four patients were excluded due to the exclusion criteria (all patients had forced vital capacity (FVC) <40%), and another patient was excluded due to not meeting the inclusion criteria, who had a diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO) ≥60%. Patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and patients without pulmonary hypertension (no PH) (n = 63) were selected for the following studies: (1) validation of the DETECT algorithm for screening of PAH and (2) identification of patients with median pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) ≥21 mmHg and (3) determination of any group of PH (all patients (n = 83) were included in this study). WHO World Health Organization, PAWP pulmonary artery wedge pressure, LHD left heart disease, ILD interstitial lung disease, HRCT high-resolution computed tomography
