Granulocyte–macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) induces the transcription of pro-interleukin-1 beta (pro-IL-1β) in human neutrophils. Neutrophils were stimulated with GM-CSF (10 ng/mL) in the presence or absence of tofacitinib for 8 h. The cells were harvested and analyzed for pro-IL-1β and glyceraldehydes-3-phosphates dehydrogenase (GAPDH) mRNA levels by real-time polymerase chain reaction. Values represent the mean ± standard deviation of two independent experiments. *P <0.01 compared with GM-CSF–stimulated neutrophils. **P <0.001 compared with GM-CSF–stimulated neutrophils
