Hydroxychloroquine inhibits the IL-1β synthesis from SAA-stimulated neutrophils. Neutrophils were pretreated with the indicated concentrations of hydroxychloroquine or iberiotoxin (IBTX) for 1 h and stimulated with SAA (10 μg/ml) for 24 h, and supernatants were analyzed for IL-1β production by ELISA.
