Evaluation of DAS28-CRP predictive performance in cross-validation. A modified leave-one-out cross-validation approach was used on the samples of the training group (128 samples) to test the performance of a generalized linear model (GLM) in predicting DAS28-CRP scores from metabolite abundances. Distributions of absolute errors from models with and without a feature selection scheme were compared to identify the more robust model. The GLM with the feature selection scheme performed better (MAE ± SD: 1.51 ± 1.89) than the model without feature selection (MAE ± SD: 2.02 ± 2.52)
