Quantitative analysis of collagen type II, the collagen type II neoepitope CPII, and the collagen type II degradation-marker C12C. Collagen type II (A), the collagen type II neoepitope CPII (B) and the collagen type II degradation-marker C12C (C) were quantitatively assessed in fresh and cultured (+/-TGF-β1) cartilage, as well as in the culture supernatant by specific ELISA assays The values of the content in cartilage (blue bars) and the cumulative release of the respective collagen marker into the culture medium (red lines) are expressed as means ± SEM.
