Resting human neutrophils (20 × 106 cells/ml) or neutrophils incubated with the IgG2a isotype antibody, 50C1, in the presence or absence of TNF-α were stimulated with MSU (1 mg/ml) for 8 h at 37°C and centrifuged, and IL-1β was quantified in the cell-free supernatant by ELISA as described in Methods.
