Apigenin inhibits the hyaluronidase activity of immunopurified proteins. The hyaluronidase activity present in a commercial preparation of testicular hyaluronidase (Api(-), left lane) as well the hyaluronidase activity purified from cell layers with the immunoaffinity gel (Api(-), right lane), both disappeared when HA substrate gels were incubated in the presence of apigenin (Api(+)).
