Effects of inhibitors and transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1) on cell cycle progression. Serum-deprived nucleus pulposus cells were treated with or without inhibitors (16 μM 10058-F4, or 30 μM PD98059) then treated with 5 or 20 ng/mL TGFβ1 for 24 h. The percentage of cells in S-phase was determined with fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Black bar, white bar and gray bar indicate the results obtained for three rats respectively.
