  1. Within scan inter-reader reproducibility is obtained by comparing scan 1values across the two readers. Parallel scan intra-reader reproducibility is obtained by comparing scan 1 read by the first reader and scan 3 read by the first reader. Parallel scan inter-reader reproducibility is obtained by comparing scan 1 read by the first reader and scan 2 read by the second reader. The scans acquired and read by the site ultrasonographer-reader (indicated in italics) were used to calculate treatment effects. KIR: Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology and B&L: St Bartholomew's and the London NHS Trust. MS based at KIR travelled to B&L for the subjects' Day 1 and Day 15 imaging and vice versa for SK who was based at B&L.
