a Progressive occurrence of IDUs in patients with a T0-NEMO score of ≥ 12 (lower curve) and < 12 (upper curve) is analysed by the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and log rank test. The risk of developing new IDUs is significantly higher in patients with a T0-NEMO score of ≥ 12 just at 6 months (*) [HR 1.42 (95% CI 0.71–2.86), p = 0.03] and at 24 months (**) [HR 1.86 (95% CI 0.98–3.5), p = 0.005]. b. The Kaplan-Meyer survival analysis performed in patients without previous IDUs gave similar results. Even in this group of patients, the risk for developing new IDUs was significantly higher in those with a T0-NEMO score of ≥ 12 both at 6 months (^) [HR 2.26 (95% CI 0.42–12.2), p < 0.01] and at 24 months (^^) [HR 2.25 (95% CI 0.85–5.96), p < 0.02]
