Joint damage in distal interphalangeal (DIP) and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints with or without the presence of dorso-ventral osteophytes (dvOPs). dvOPs were evaluated radiographically. Joint damage was determined by applying either a radiographic (Kellgren/Lawrence) shown on the right hand side of the graphs or histological (Mankin) score displayed on the left hand side of the graphs.
